1. 개요
The Beatles의 마지막 트랙으로 수록된 존 레논의 곡.존 레논이 밤잠을 설치던 아들 줄리안 레논을 위해 써준 곡이다. 자신의 높은 목소리가 어울리지 않는다고 생각하여 링고 스타에게 보컬을 맡겼다.
화이트 앨범의 첫번째 트랙인 Back in the U.S.S.R.이 로큰롤, 하드 록인데 마지막 트랙인 이 곡은 오케스트라 팝으로 완전히 배치되는 위치에 있다고 할 수 있다. 나름 기승전결을 잘 갖춘 앨범인 셈. 곡의 마무리 부분이 유명해 현재도 자장가 음악중 명곡으로 여겨지고 있다. Love 음반의 마지막 트랙인 All You Need Is Love에도 이 곡의 마지막 부분이 편곡되어 삽입되었다.
다만 지루하다고 싫어하는 사람도 있는 등 호불호가 갈리는 곡이긴 하다. 인디펜던트지부터 이 곡을 '너무 지루한 곡이라서 진짜로 듣다가 자버리겠다'라는 이유로 이곡을 사실상 꼴지인 28위에 랭크시켰다.[1]
