아샨티의 싱글이며 그녀의 데뷔 앨범 Ashanti의 첫 싱글로 2002년 2월 11일에 발매되었다.2. 상세
빌보드 핫 100에서 10주 연속 1위를 기록하는 등 차트에서 장기집권을 한 곡이었으며[4] 2002년 빌보드 핫 100 연말 차트에서도 2위를 차지하며 2002년 미국에서 제일 히트한 곡 중 하나가 되었다.[5]차트 1위에 오르기 바로 직전이었던 2002년 4월 둘째 주의 집계에 따르면, 전미에서 1억 1,300만 명에 달하는 청취자들이 라디오를 통해 이 노래를 들었다.
이렇게 화려한 데뷔를 치른 아샨티였지만, 이후 2004년 말 ~ 2005년에 소속사 Murder Inc.가 FBI에 의해 압수수색을 당하는 일로 인해 회사의 일이 멈췄고, 이로 인해 아샨티의 전성기가 끝이 나며 Foolish보다 더 큰 히트곡은 나오지 못했다.[6]
이 당시 아샨티는 이 곡 뿐만 아니라 다른 두 히트곡이 동시에 히트하며, 1964년 비틀즈 이후로 38년 만에 핫 100 1, 2, 3위를 모두 차지하는 대기록을 세운다.
